Stick and boom

The length-optimized arm and boom provide a working range sufficient to load most types of road dump trucks and other machines involved in the removal of rock (soil) from quarries. Thanks to the reinforced construction, including cast elements of the hinge units, the excavator can work with almost all types of soils. The bucket drive cylinder has an increased size of 185 x 1160 x 120 mm (diameter x piston stroke x rod diameter), which significantly increases the bucket cutting force.

Ladle

A 2.8 m3 rock bucket with a reinforced design is standard on the Komatsu PC400LC-7 SE excavator. By comparison, a number of competitors have 0.2-0.4 m3 smaller buckets as standard equipment. The bucket weight is 2360 kg. Thanks to the drop-shaped shape of the bucket (Me) the optimal trajectory of its movement and minimal friction on the ground are achieved, reducing the load on the working bodies - hydraulic drive and engine. Low resistance value when the bucket penetrates into the ground has a positive effect on its speed of movement and working cycle time.

Bucket protection

The bucket protection is made of elements of a strictly calibrated geometric shape, made of high-strength Hardox steel. The components are placed in accordance with a specific pattern that takes into account the load on the working tool. This provides maximum bucket wear protection without adding weight. Depending on the area of the structure that requires protection, the hardness of the linings can reach 450 HBW, which provides excellent protection of the bucket from wear when working with hard materials and increases its service life by one and a half times.

Performance

High productivity of the excavator is achieved due to the use of a large bucket volume - 2.8 m3 (base machine - 1.9 m3), high cutting force of the bucket - 303 kN (+10% to the standard specification) and pressure force of the arm - 246 kN (+15% to the standard specification). The capacity gain is 33 % over the base machine - 270 m3/h vs. 360 m3/h. The loading cost is reduced by 18 % - from 11 to 9 rubles/m3, which gives a significant advantage when performing large volumes of work.

Chassis

The undercarriage with an overall track length of 5355 mm and 700 mm wide shoes helps the machine to maintain the required stability on various types of ground. The large footprint prevents the excavator from bogging down on low-density surfaces. The machine has a ground pressure of 0.66 kgf/cm2.

Compatibility

The Komatsu PC400LC-7 SE excavator fits perfectly into a production chain involving 6 x 4, 6 x 6, 8 x 4, 8 x 4, 8 x 8 road tippers with payloads up to 40 tons. The number of working cycles required to fill standard 18 and 24 m3 bodies is 6 and 8 respectively.

Basis

The Komatsu PC400LC-7 is one of the most reliable machines in the Japanese brand's lineup. Komatsu SAA6D125E-3 inline 6-cylinder diesel engine has an enviable service life and good maintainability. Thanks to the modern electronically controlled Common rail power system, which provides multi-stage fuel injection, the engine runs smoothly and with minimal fuel consumption. The 330 hp (at 1850 rpm) of useful power derived from the 11-liter displacement is sufficient for any production task.

Cabin

The cab is well soundproofed and, due to the use of specially designed supports, has highly effective vibration protection. Thanks to airtightness and proper adjustment of the climate and ventilation system, the cab maintains a comfortable microclimate and eliminates the intake of untreated outside air. This reduces operator fatigue and allows the excavator's technical capabilities to be more fully realized.

"Cold" execution

Komatsu PC400LC-7 SE excavator can be delivered in a special version - for operation at temperatures as low as -50 ˚C. Reliable operation of the machine at sharply negative temperatures is achieved by using adapted assemblies and a number of design details. The hydraulic drive uses high-pressure sleeves and hoses that retain elasticity.

Facts:

  • 18 % lower loading cost compared to the base machine.
  • Bucket cutting force at maximum capacity - 303 kN (+10% of standard specification).
  • Increased productivity of the machine by 33 % (relative to the PC400LC-7 model).
  • Handle pressure force at maximum power - 246 kN (+15% of standard specification).
